People buy Harleys for lots of reasons. Some because they're "the in thing", some to show off how much money they have, some because they like owning a bike that grows in value every year instead of decreasing, and some just because. There is no reason or logic for this kind of person, like me. I hate to resort to such an old cliche' but;
If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand.
I've owned lots of bikes, including two Savages but I wouldn't trade my Harley for any five of them. No I don't have a lot of money and no my bike isn't "customized" with lots of chrome and fancy paint. It's basic black, still has the factory exhaust, and shows every one of the 40,000 miles on it. I also plan to keep it forever.
If any or all of you prefer your Savage, that's OK with me. Harleys are not for everyone. I'm glad you found a bike you like so well and hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my bike.
Ride free.
